While travelling the world, we have to remember to protect ourselves from numerous enemies. Almost all elements of the environment are fully destructible and removable – it's a way for us to gather the materials needed to build things, and also how we shape the landscape. The world of Terraria is randomly generated – players will never visit the exact same location twice.

Impressive magnitude of possibilities and dangers makes each playthrough a different experience, because the world is created by the player. We can dig in the ground, searching for resources, plant vegetation, discover new locations, fight various enemies, create objects and even build our own strongholds and houses. From that moment on, we have only ourselves and our ingenuity to rely upon. The game sends us to a 2D land, giving us a few basic tools to begin with. This game from the indie developer Re-Logic is sometimes referred to as "2D Minecraft" since it lets you influence your environment in a similar manner. Terraria is a 2D platformer, in which the players can freely modify the world around them.
